Analyses of the TV Drama

Eastenders

Eastenders is a very popular British TV Drama which have been shown for a long period of time on BBC 1 channel. The episode i have seen recently involves a female character called Ronnie who is terrified about a baby  boy she has stolen of another character called Kat who is unaware of the situation due to be in a shock after her own child past away in a sleep. The whole idea of Eastenders is to keep delivering the drama to the audience who are fascinated by it and to picture how this TV Drama reflects on the viewer's everyday life and what similarities they face.
During the 30 minutes of the episode each time the audience learn and find out new thinks about the characters and their lives they live in.
There are few places such as pub, local houses, the main street used to create the whole atmosphere and to set the mood of each episode depending on the plot that is being followed.
In this episode the scene takes place in the house where Kat and her husband Alfie still upset after finding their baby boy dead upstairs in the bedroom are discussing of moving on and reopening the pub which they own so it can function properly and they will forget quicker about the tragedy that have touched them. During the conversation Kat is very upset and she decides to pack all Tommy's staff who died in the bin bag and brings it to Ronnie who is very uncomfortable about this but at the end accepts the gift.
Another scene takes place in the house which involves one of the characters called Phil Mitchel who is the father of Ben. The police knocks on his door asking for Ben who is suspected of pushing Glenda down the stairs and causing her a serious injury but he does not let them in and protects his son till the end.
Throw the whole episode there is no background music played just at the beginning with the subtitles and at the end of the episode followed by the titles as well. However there is a moment where for few second the radio music is played just outside the pub where Alfie and Kat's father are discussing her health and the state she is in.
There is a natural day light used outside the building but inside it there was some light used to show the characters faces and to make the scene look bright.
The whole episode contained 3 main story lines which are listed above.

  1. www some good analysis and comment on the programme, you have attempted to think about audience and institutions.

ebi Eastenders is on BBC1 and BBC3 NOT ITV2!!!
Think about how Londoners are represented in this drama.
